30.12.04 - As some of you may have realized, the site went down back in Sept. This was due to my lack of job, hence lack of money to pay for hosting. Being the lazy wench that I am, I never got around to smacking up a page saying "back soon". I am now working again and just paid up the hosting fees for the next two years. So we won't be going anywhere again for a while folks. I may have done some file updates since the site went down, don't remember. New updates will be forthcoming soonish.


20.05.04 - And we are back! After a bloody year and a half, yesterday I finally got my access back to the drive the new site files were on. This isn't the finished site, there's alot of information still missing and most of the outside links are out of date as the pages were put together a year and a hal ago. (DeviantArt no longer has an anime wall section for instance.) I did give a quick update to the links section, culling everything that was no longer availible and changing the link to the official site from vandread.com to it's new archive spot on the Media Factory website. More updates will come as I have time to work on getting the site fully completed.


26.09.03 - Announced last month was the sale of Pioneer's interests in both anime production and distribution to Dentsu Inc. A press release was sent out today announcing the name change of Pioneer Entertainment to Geneon Entertainment as of October 1st. It would probably be safe to assume that further pressings of the Region 1 Vandread DVDs with feature the new company name and logo. (Aside: NSH site update still pending.)


18.07.03 - Meh. I'm sorry for the downtime of the past week, apprently the bandwidth limit was exceed for my father's hosting for the month. I suspect hotlinkers. (Who can, quite frankly kiss my but, 'cause they're not gonna be able to do that no more. *smirk*) Anyhow, aprox. 3 days after I updated last, my computer crashed. Is still out of commision but I should soon be able to finally transfer the drive containing the site update to another computer. Looking at this site, I'm extremely embarassed at how out of date it is. I'll do everything I can to get an update up quickly. In the meantime, a few notes:

• Those of you who sent in the sticker for the Vandread Second Stage vol. 1 cards but have not heard anything from Pioneer: No, they haven't forgotten you, they're still working on getting them all out. Thank the Pioneer rep who recently turned up on the AnimeonDVD.com forums for this info.
  
  
• Storm's End, my website for GONZO's currently airing anime Last Exile is now open. While you're waiting for this to be updated, go play. ^-^
  
  

20.03.03 - Ack...gomen minna-san... The site was down for a few days earlier this month 'cause my dad was having a spat with the hosting company. That's all resolved now, but...

NSH will be moving shortly. knll.org will no longer host the site as soon as I get the update/re-design finished. It's all set up, I've just got a bit more new content to whip into shape, but it should be done sometime within the next month. The site will be reachable at vandread-nirvana.net as always.

A note re new content: If anyone out there can positively identify any of Celtic's costumes from Second Stage (ASIDE from the Lum costume in episode 10), I would be grateful for the info. Thanks!

Lastly, I'm also in the beginning stages of development on a site for GONZO's new anime Last Exile, which is set to air beginning next month. I will try to get the NSH update done first. ^^;


02.09.02 - Two quick news updates...

1. I've recieved several email asking if I knew what was up with the lack of trading cards in the fourth volume Region 1 DVD. Apparently they forgot to package the cards in with the DVD. (Ooops.) Those of you who bought the DVD may want to check Pioneer's site for information on obtaining the missing cards.

2. The release of Vandread: Gekitouhen (Vandread: Turbulence or literally Vandread: Intense Fighting Stage) this fall is going to come in two formats. One is more expensive and comes with the extra box, promo trading cards, a 2nd Stage art book, and a special Vocal Collection CD that contains all the vocal songs from the series as well as a piano version of "Justice" and two versions of the new song "Proof". This version of Gekitouhen is ONLY availible through pre-order and the only place I've foudn that is still taking orders for it is AMO and they need to have orders in no later than SEPT. 10th. That's only a week away folks, sorry for the lack of notice. There will of course be the standard version without all the extra stuff generally availble. Hopefully they'll release a version of the vocal colelction later on as well.


24.07.02 - "I'm not dead! I feel fine! I feel happy!" - So I finally got off my lazy ass and put together an update... (And there was much rejoycing. Yay.)

Newsbytes:

• As most of you are probably aware, Pioneer announced at Sakuracon (at the panel I did not attend...*kicks herself repeatedly*) that they have licensed Second Stage. The first DVD is due out on September 23rd, along with...Ta-Da! A series box! (w00t! Same day as X too *hoards her money in preparation*) Please remember that this means that distribution of Second Stage fansubs in North America needs to cease.
  
  
• It has come to my attention, that Odex Private Limited has the Region 3 license for Vandread and have put out what looks to be a very nice box set of season one. For those of you in the region 3 area, please support the anime industry.
  
  
• There is announcement on the Official Vandread Site about a new compilation movie of Vandread: Second Stage. The name of the edit is Gekitouhen, and the theme song for it is called "Proof". I can only hope that they do better with this one then they did with Taidouhen.
  
  
• A note on the second US DVD. Yes, they DID change the music in Ep. 6, What a Wonderful World. The original Louis Armstrong version of "What a Wonderful World" was used in the original Japanese broadcast of the episode. On the DVD, the song used in the subtitled version is the version on the Trust single and the Vandread OST, which is sung by Donna Burke. (No, I don't know who she is either.) On the DUBBED version, the change is even more dramatic, because instead of using "What a Wonderful World", the song you hear at the end is the song "Somedays" from the fifth episode of Vandread: Second Stage, which is also titled Somedays. (This explains why there is a 'music box' version of the song on the Second Stage OST.) The reason for the change likely has to do with copyright law and the amount of money it would cost for them to get permission to use the song. I have yet to discover whether the song was changed on the Japanese DVD release.
  
  
• There is now a Credits section, listing cast and crew for the show. This does not as of yet contain the US voice actors, nor is the crew section as complete as it could be, but it's a start.
  
  
• There is now content in the Story section. This is intended to be a low-spoiler introduction to the series, not a synopsis. That will show up in the episodes section. At some point. On a side note, you can blame this damn thing for the fact that there hasn't been a site update for more than half a year. Frelling writer's block. :-P
  
  
• There is now content in the Tech section. Some items have rather little info and others I'm having problems getting a screen shot I'm happy with. In fact, I'm rather unhappy with the setup of that section and it will be revamped entirely in an impending site redesign, but don't hold your breath.
  
  
• There are new pictures for Duero, Gascogne, BC and Misty in the Characters section. There are also some stats on Pyoro now too. (Courtesy of the Vandread OST CD Insert.)
  
  
• I finshed standardizing the link banners. There are now once each of 88x31, 200x40, and 468x60 sizes.
  
  
• There needs to be an update of the Mechandise Log. I've already updated the CD page, the Books page, and the DVD page. I've also found several new items and sources for other items. Also the Dita statue on the Models page is no longer availible, but there are new statues of her, Meia, Jura and Paiway which HLJ also carries.
  
  
• A note about e-mail. Please for the sake of whatever diety you happen to believe in, RUN a bloody virus check! I get more crap in my mailbox from this site...
  
  
• Lastly, it has come to my attention that someone stole some pictures off my site and has been using them in ebay auctions for illegal VCDs. To them I say, 'Hello, wherever you are. I just want to make it totally clear you are not at all welcome. I worked hard to make this site what it is today, and I didn't do it simply so it could be ripped off by a bunch of degenerate bootleggers.' For the rest of you, if you recognize the quote I was bastardizing, give yourself a cookie for being generally froody.
